Bands & Collaborations

  • 2008 - Present | electric cello, guitar, bass & synths

Working with Evi is where I learned most about crafting music as well as presenting it live and on record. As a core part of Evi’s band, I have contributed to 3 studio albums, and toured extensively in the UK and Europe including major festivals and headline tours.

  • 2021 - Present | acoustic cello

Working as a trio with Mae and flautist Ronja Schlumberger, we have arranged, produced and recorded an album of original songs to be released in March 2023.

  • 2019 - Present | multi-instrumentation and vocals

This is my own creative project, combining my passions for atmospheric soundscapes and alternative grungy rock. This project has been my primary first-hand experience of creating a band from scratch and getting to know every tiny detail of the overall process of making, releasing and promoting music.

  • 2021- Present | Electric cello, piano, guitar & bass

Signed to Bella Union, this collaborative project was born when 7 different UK based musicians (Stuart Brathwaite of Mogwai, Elisabeth Elektra, Ash Babb, Evi Vine, Steven Hill, Matthew Rochford and Ben Roberts) decided to spend a week in the most remote recording studio in the country, Black Bay. The result was an album of impassioned songs that is set for release in 2023 with accompanying UK & European tours.

  • 2018 - Present | cello

I’ve played several live shows and contributed to 2 studio albums with Jo-Beth under the stage names of RISE and Talitha Rise, as well as under her own name. Our next tour is due in summer of 2023.

  • 2010 - 2017 | Cello & Vocals

This band was a formative part of learning how to throw myself into performances and entertain. Acoustic punk, cider festivals, fancy dress, standing on tables, lying on the floor, it was the perfect schooling in letting go and keeping it simple but silly.

Classical

  • I have performed regularly at events and parties as a solo cellist (acoustic and electric), and am currently building my experience to perform classical recitals and with orchestras. I also play with a pianist, Liz Coxon, if required (see Sacred Spaces, below).

    Sample repertoire (requests taken):

    • Bach cello suites 1, 2 & 3

    • Saint-Saëns - Le Cygne (The Swan)

    • Max Brüch - Kol Nedrei

    • Saint-Saëns - Allegro Appassionato

    • Ennio Morricone - Gabriel’s Oboe

    • Improvisations

  • 2017 - Present | Principal Cellist

With TSO we play a broad selection of works including modern original compositions, 20th century works, romantic classics and early music, always digging deep into the characters and stories behind the notes.

I love getting involved with all aspects of orchestral life from choosing repertoire, to transporting timpani between venues, to making the tea at break time.

  • 2018 - Present | Cellist & Founding Member

String quartets are possibly my all time favourite ensemble. in 4PLAY we have our own twist on the traditional format, performing a blend of American and Scandi folk alongside arrangements of alternative rock songs and even a few classical pieces.

  • 2020 - Present

A duet of cello and piano, this project was formed in order to explore and perform music that feels sacred. Bach, Faure and Arvo Pärt are presented as pieces for quiet reflection and deep spiritual connectivity.
